Our Music

We have a wide range of taste, but it seems to come down to blues, with a folk flavor. We
rock it hard and loud sometimes, depending on the venue. We are currently focusing on
the duet. Our favorite music to play is our originals. You'll hear the influences of Kris
Kristofferson, and John Prine in the lyrical content. You'll hear the influence of Billy
Gibbons and Johnny Winters in the guitar work. You'll hear the influence of Janis Joplin
and Koko Taylor in Levi's vocal work. We try to glean from all our favorite artists. The
songs come together in a couple different ways. Sometime Levi brings some lyric or
melody line to Hooker and they build from there. Often the tunes come from an
improvisational sitting in their living room. Hooker has opened for Leon Russell and Levi
has worked with Sherrie Williams. They have opened for Larry McCray with great reviews.
They have done many benefits which had them working with local talents such as,
Magnum, Cherry Red, Michael David Project and other Michigan veterans. You can

Levi "Mama" Rose:

This CD was born 1996. Mr.Steven Baker is the main guitarist
and had a large part in putting the music together. The lyrics
are all Levi with the exception of "Turtle Blues" rerecorded with
permission. The hit off of this seems to be "Rattle Rattle".
This is her first and will always be treasured because of the
fine musicians she was able to work with such as, Virgil
Brewer, Willy Jackson, Harley Mullins and many others. Since
it's release, she has sold out, but if you don't mind it burnt
from her computer, she'll send ya one!

Baby Steps

Hookers solo CD, Confessions, Lies and Fairytales was
released in October of 2002 and has been selling steady. A
huge hit from this CD is "Jesus was an Outlaw", playing on
juke box's in Indiana, Michigan and radio in Colorado.
